Unverified voice note also references filmmaker Rohit Shetty as police launch probe

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a fresh threat through an audio message that claims links to the Bishnoi gang. The voice note, believed to have been circulated on WhatsApp, carries a warning tone and names both Singh and director Rohit Shetty, asking them to comply with unspecified demands.
Sources said the sender used intimidating language and hinted at consequences if the warning was ignored. The message allegedly suggested that not only the actor but also members of his staff could face harm, adding to the seriousness of the threat.
Police have not yet verified whether the message genuinely originated from the Lawrence Bishnoi network or if someone falsely invoked the gang’s name to create fear. Investigators are examining the audio clip and tracking its digital source to establish authenticity and identify the sender.
As a precaution, security around Singh’s residence has reportedly been stepped up, with additional guards deployed. The development comes amid rising concerns over threats directed at film personalities.
Law enforcement agencies said they are taking the matter seriously and will act firmly against anyone attempting to intimidate public figures.
