Himanta Biswa Sarma Lays Foundation Stone for Rs 150 Crore BTC Mini Secretariat in Udalguri

Five-storey administrative complex to house BTC offices, Assembly building, residential facilities and modern infrastructure

Udalguri: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 13 laid the foundation stone for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Mini Secretariat at Udalguri, marking a significant step toward strengthening administrative infrastructure in the Bodoland region.

The state-of-the-art complex will be constructed over 25 bighas of land at an estimated cost of around Rs 150 crore. Designed as a five-storey facility, it will bring multiple BTC departments under one roof, improving coordination, governance efficiency and public service delivery.

The project will also include a dedicated BTC Legislative Assembly building and a conference hall to facilitate official meetings and legislative functions. In addition, the campus will feature a guest house, residential quarters for officials and staff, internal roads and adequate parking facilities to ensure smooth operations.

Once completed, the Mini Secretariat is expected to streamline administrative processes, enhance accessibility for citizens and serve as a modern governance hub for the region, reflecting the state government’s continued focus on decentralised development and institutional strengthening across Assam.
