Manoj Bajpayee Steps In For Govinda in Bhagam Bhag 2: Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal Return

Sequel to Priyadarshan’s cult comedy promises fresh chaos while retaining the original’s madcap spirit

Guwahati: Nearly two decades after Bhagam Bhag became one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy thrillers, the makers are gearing up for a sequel with a major change in its cast lineup. While Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal are set to reprise their roles, Manoj Bajpayee will step in to replace Govinda in Bhagam Bhag 2.

According to recent media reports, Bajpayee has been roped in for a pivotal role in the film, marking a significant departure from the original cast. Govinda’s comic timing was widely considered one of the highlights of the 2006 hit, but the actor has largely stayed away from the big screen since Rangeela Raja (2019). Fans hoping for the original trio’s reunion may be disappointed, as the sequel appears to be taking a new creative direction.

Directed by Raaj Shaadilyaa, the sequel aims to retain the high-energy humour and chaotic storytelling that defined Priyadarshan’s classic. Reports suggest the film will once again revolve around mistaken identities, confusion, and escalating comic mayhem, staying true to the spirit of the original while introducing fresh characters and twists.

Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary has also joined the cast and will star opposite Akshay Kumar, marking her return to Hindi cinema. Meanwhile, the makers are still searching for a female lead opposite Bajpayee.

With a blend of familiar faces and new talent, Bhagam Bhag 2 promises to deliver another round of laughter-packed entertainment for audiences.
