RCB Defeat Delhi to Lift WPL 2026 Trophy

Mandhana-Voll stand powers chase as Capitals lose fourth straight final heartbreak

Vadodara: Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women scripted a memorable title triumph in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 final. RCB defeated Delhi Capitals Women by six wickets in a high-scoring summit clash at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara. The victory secured RCB’s second WPL crown, while Delhi endured the agony of a fourth consecutive final defeat.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a formidable 203/4 in 20 overs, the highest total ever set in a WPL final. Jemimah Rodrigues anchored the innings with a fluent 57 off 37 balls, while Laura Wolvaardt added a brisk 44 off 25, giving Delhi what appeared to be a match-winning score.

However, RCB’s chase was defined by a breathtaking counter-attack from skipper Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll. The duo stitched together a record 165-run partnership, the highest stand for any wicket in WPL history, dismantling Delhi’s bowling with boundaries in nearly every over. Mandhana smashed 87 off 41 deliveries, while Voll contributed a composed 79 off 54, taking the game away from the Capitals.

Delhi briefly fought back with three quick wickets, including Mandhana and Voll, with Chinelle Henry (2/34) and Arundhati Reddy striking at crucial moments. Yet, RCB held their nerve, reaching 204/4 in 19.4 overs, sealing victory with two balls to spare.
