Chief Secretary Reviews Preparations Ahead of PM Assam Visit

Meeting held under CM Himanta’s directions as Prime Minister set to dedicate key development projects to the state

Guwahati: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Assam on February 14, Chief Secretary Dr Ravi Kota chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the state’s preparedness for the much-anticipated tour and ensure smooth execution of all official programmes.

The review meeting, conducted as per the directions of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, focused on evaluating logistical arrangements, security measures, inter-departmental coordination, and venue readiness. Senior officials from various departments participated in the discussions to streamline planning and avoid last-minute challenges.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will dedicate a wide range of development projects to the people of Assam. The initiatives are expected to cover multiple sectors, including infrastructure, connectivity, and public welfare, aimed at accelerating the state’s growth and improving services for citizens.

The upcoming visit highlights the Centre’s continued focus on Assam’s development and reflects the state government’s commitment to implementing large-scale initiatives for the benefit of its people. With preparations now under close review, the stage is set for a significant day.
