Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma began his birthday on February 1, 2026 with prayers at Maa Kamakhya Temple; supporters across the state gathered at his government residence to extend greetings since late night

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma turned 57 on February 1 and stepped into his 58th year amid warm birthday wishes from supporters, admirers and well-wishers. He began his birthday by offering prayers and seeking blessings at the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.

From late night onwards, people gathered at the Chief Minister’s official residence to personally greet him and convey their good wishes. Several supporters brought gifts as a mark of affection, including a pen worth Rs 13,000 and a ceremonial mace.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sarma thanked the people of Assam and sought their continued blessings. He also shared his views on various issues and said that the BJP’s electoral success remains one of his key goals this year.

Many visitors said they were happy with the government’s development work, new initiatives and welfare schemes, and expressed hope that Assam would continue to progress under his leadership. They wished the Chief Minister a long and healthy life for the continued development of the state.
