A sum of Rs 5.14 crore was sanctioned for 114 relief and rehabilitation cases and officials were directed to stay alert for possible flood emergencies

Sivasagar: A key review meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) was convened on Friday, at the District Commissioner’s office in Sivasagar district to assess disaster relief measures and strengthen preparedness for the upcoming flood season.
The meeting was chaired by District Commissioner and DDMA Chairperson Mridul Yadav, who led detailed discussions on compensation, rehabilitation assistance, and relief fund allocations across departments.
Officials presented reports related to the Disaster Response Fund and other compensation schemes for approval. After thorough evaluation of 114 submitted cases, the authority unanimously cleared all proposals, sanctioning a total amount of around Rs 5.14 Crore to support affected individuals and families.
In addition to financial approvals, the meeting placed strong emphasis on advance planning for potential floods in the district. The Chairperson reviewed preparedness strategies and instructed all departments to remain vigilant and fully equipped to respond swiftly to any emergency. He stressed that there should be no delays or shortcomings in the supply and distribution of relief materials.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Commissioner and DDMA Chief Executive Officer Minakshi Permey, Assistant Commissioner Chandana Jahnabi, District Project Officer Rupamjyoti Bora, Revenue Circle officers, Municipal Officials, and representatives from various departments and field-level disaster management teams, reaffirming the district administration’s coordinated approach to disaster response.
