Rairangpur: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Information Technology Campus of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University and laid the foundation stones for several major development projects at Rairangpur in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. These initiatives mark a significant push for education, healthcare, and community welfare in the region.
The projects include an AYUSH Hospital-cum-Ayurvedic College, a campus of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, an Archery Centre, a girls’ hostel, and a de-addiction centre. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening institutional infrastructure while expanding opportunities for students, youth, and local communities.

Addressing the gathering, the President expressed confidence that the development-oriented projects would accelerate regional progress and create new employment avenues. She noted that improved access to education, healthcare, and skill-building facilities would directly benefit the people of Mayurbhanj and nearby areas.
Highlighting the Centre’s Purvodaya initiative, she said Odisha has been accorded priority in development efforts, with Mayurbhanj emerging as a key beneficiary. The new institutions are expected to improve connectivity, boost trade and tourism, and enhance services across sectors such as health, research, and skill development.

The President also underscored the rich heritage of India’s tribal communities and stressed the need to preserve and promote their art, culture, and traditions through focused initiatives.
Reiterating the national vision, Murmu said the goal of building a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 can only be achieved through the collective efforts of both the government and citizens. With multiple projects taking shape simultaneously, the region is poised for transformative growth, offering renewed hope for inclusive and sustainable development in northern Odisha
