Pijush Hazarika Unveils Several Developmental Projects in Jagiroad

Road construction projects from Shildubi to Jhargaon and Jhargaon to Malaibari were launched, while a new hostel was inaugurated at Mohan Banshi Das Junior College to support students from distant areas.

Jagiroad: Pijush Hazarika, on March 9, launches several development initiatives in the Jagiroad constituency, focusing on improving road connectivity and strengthening educational infrastructure in the region.

Firstly, the minister inaugurated the construction of a road from Shildubi to Jhar Gaon via Ashigarh under the SOPD-G scheme. Once completed, the road is expected to significantly improve connectivity and make daily commuting easier for residents living in nearby areas.

In addition, the Minister launched another key road project from Jhargaon to Malaibari via Diprang Barpak under the AsomMala 3.0 initiative. The project aims to improve transportation networks, ensure smoother travel for residents, and support the overall development of surrounding villages.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister also emphasised that strengthening road connectivity remains a major priority of the government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma in Assam. He added that such infrastructure projects are essential for boosting regional growth and improving the quality of life for people.

Meanwhile, the Minister also inaugurated a newly constructed hostel at Mohan Banshi Das Junior College in Jagiroad. The facility will provide better residential accommodation for students, especially those coming from distant areas to pursue their studies.

Through these initiatives, the government aims to strengthen both infrastructure and educational opportunities, thereby supporting long-term development in the Jagiroad region.

Following the foundation laying for the upgradation of the 12.417-km Shildubi–Ashigarh–Jhar Gaon road and the construction of two bridges under the SOPD-G scheme in Jagiroad, Pijush Hazarika also addressed a public gathering at Bir Lachit Playground.

During the programme, he highlighted various welfare and development initiatives undertaken by the government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma in Assam and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue working for the progress and prosperity of residents in the constituency.
