The Water Resources and Information Minister dedicate the facility to promote sports and youth talent, with friendly football matches held to mark the occasion.
Morigaon: A newly constructed mini stadium at the Jagiroad Sports Association playground in Morigaon district was inaugurated by the Minister of Water Resources, Information and Public Relations, Shri Pijush Hazarika. The ceremony was attended by District Commissioner Smt. Anamika Tewari, Joint District Commissioner of Jagiroad, Hriday Kumar Das, and several dignitaries.
To commemorate the inauguration, friendly football matches were organised between Mizoram Three Brothers FC and Jagiroad Sports Association FC, and Shillong Elburail FC and Jorhat Town Club FC, adding a celebratory sporting atmosphere to the event.
Moreover, the Minister expressed his enthusiasm on the occasion, stating that the mini stadium would provide enhanced facilities for sports enthusiasts and serve as a platform for nurturing the talents of young athletes. He emphasised the role of sports in building a healthy and strong society and pledged to continue developmental efforts in Jagiroad.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister further shared his vision of constructing a larger stadium with 10,000 seats in the future to further support the community’s sporting aspirations. He thanked the people for their support and blessings, highlighting that the mini stadium is dedicated to the residents of Jagiroad and will be a hub for local youth and sports activities.
The inauguration marks a significant step in promoting grassroots sports infrastructure in the district and demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering athletic talent and community engagement through sports.
