NDA Felicitates PM Modi for Landmark Global Trade Deals

Parliamentary party meeting highlights India’s 39 FTAs and links Budget 2026 vision to growing global economic clout

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Members of Parliament at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting in New Delhi for steering a series of landmark trade agreements with the United States, the European Union and several other nations. Leaders described the deals as a major step forward in strengthening India’s global economic presence and diplomatic outreach.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said there was visible enthusiasm among MPs and across the country over India signing 39 free trade agreements with developed economies, calling it an unprecedented achievement. BJP MP Kangana Ranaut also praised the Prime Minister, noting that the recently concluded India–US trade deal has generated widespread excitement nationwide.

The trade pact with the US, finalised after a phone call between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump, is the second major agreement India has secured within ten days. NDA leaders said such deals reflect growing international confidence in India and are expected to expand exports, improve market access and create new opportunities for businesses and youth.

The meeting, held at the Parliament Library Building, also focused on the Union Budget 2026 and the government’s roadmap towards ‘Viksit Bharat 2047.’ Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman outlined the budget’s priorities and strategies, while guidelines were discussed on communicating its benefits to the public.

Newly elected BJP National President Nitin Nabin was formally welcomed during the session. Addressing the gathering, PM Modi described the budget as a “highway of immense opportunities” that will accelerate reforms and support India’s journey toward sustained growth and global leadership.
