District Commissioner Devashish Sharma announced the final voter list for seven constituencies and emphasised transparency, while the district police conducted a special training program to ensure free, fair, and secure elections.

Nagaon: On February 10, 2026, the final electoral rolls for Nagaon district’s seven assembly constituencies were formally released at a special meeting in the District Commissioner’s office. The meeting, presided over by District Commissioner and District Election Officer Shri Devashish Sharma, covered seven constituencies: 55-Dhing, 56-Rupahihat, 57-Kaliabor, 58-Samaguri, 59-Barhmpur, 60-Nagaon-Batadraba, and 61-Raha (SC).
Representatives from various political parties attended the event, ensuring transparency as the final list was made public. According to the Election Office, a total of 1,551,530 voters will be eligible to cast their ballots across 1,868 polling stations. Of these, 778,208 are male, 773,270 are female, and 52 belong to the third gender, reflecting efforts to include all sections of society.

Following the release, the District Commissioner addressed a press conference along with Additional District Commissioner Shri Sudip Nath, Election Officer Shri Shekharan Phukan, and District Information Officer Shri Arunav Chowdhury. The officials elaborated on technical and statistical details of the electoral rolls and engaged with journalists in a constructive discussion.
On the same day, the Nagaon Police Administration conducted a special training program for officers at all levels to prepare for the elections. The meeting was held at the district police headquarters auditorium.

The program aimed to ensure law and order, rapid emergency response, and overall election security. Along with DC Devashish Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Swapnaneel Deka, Additional SP Shri Jayanta Baruah, Deputy SP Smt. Parmita Sarkar and Sub-Divisional Police Officers of the Raha area, master trainers as well as other officials, were the esteemed participants.
The combined efforts of the election and police departments aim to facilitate a transparent, secure, and smooth electoral process for all voters in the district.
