Mizoram CM Disburses Rs 1 Crore Under Catalytic Intervention Plan Fund

Funds released in Aizawl to empower District Planning Committees, enabling decentralised development, stronger local governance, and effective implementation of district-specific plans across Mizoram.

Aizwal: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma disbursed the District Catalytic Intervention Plan Fund, allocating Rs 1 crore to each district. The initiative aims to ensure the effective implementation of local development plans. The fund was released at the Planning and Programme Implementation Committee Room.

Addressing officials, CM Lalduhoma states that although District Planning Committees had been constituted earlier, they lacked dedicated financial resources to meaningfully execute their proposals. The new allocation, he noted, would bridge this gap and enable districts to translate their plans into action.

The Chief Minister also emphasised that the government is committed to decentralised governance. It plans to empower districts to design their own development strategies based on local needs and priorities. Providing direct financial support, he added, would strengthen accountability and improve outcomes at the grassroots level.

Lalduhoma described the initiative as a key component of the state government’s flagship Bana Kaih (hand-holding) scheme, aimed at supporting communities through targeted assistance and inclusive growth. The move is expected to accelerate district-level planning and ensure more balanced development across Mizoram.
