Farmers and officials unite to boost agri-based enterprises

Morigaon: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Morigaon, organised an Entrepreneurs’ Meet at the farm of Shri Bipul Patar in Makaria village, aiming to promote agri-based entrepreneurship and strengthen the district’s journey towards agricultural self-sufficiency.
The programme brought together 35 entrepreneurs engaged in dairy, piggery, goatery, poultry, fishery, agriculture and horticulture, offering a common platform for interaction, networking and exchange of ideas. The meeting focused on encouraging innovation, sharing practical experiences and addressing challenges faced by rural enterprises.
District Commissioner Smti. Anamika Tewari attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Zila Parishad CEO Ananta Gogoi graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. Senior officials from the fisheries, veterinary, tourism and industrial sectors, along with scientists and staff of KVK Morigaon, were also present.
Outlining the objectives, Dr Rijusmita Sarma Deka, Head of KVK Morigaon, stressed the importance of scientific guidance and continuous hand-holding support in building successful and sustainable rural businesses. She highlighted KVK’s role in providing technical assistance and advisory services to entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, the District Commissioner said such initiatives inspire aspiring entrepreneurs and create opportunities for income generation at the grassroots level. She encouraged participants to pursue sustainable and profitable ventures that contribute to the district’s overall growth.
During the interaction session, entrepreneurs shared their experiences, challenges and suggestions, acknowledging the crucial support extended by KVK and allied departments in establishing and expanding their enterprises. The programme concluded on an optimistic note, with participants expressing renewed confidence to scale up their ventures and play an active role in Morigaon’s agricultural and economic development.
