Goalpara Launches ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0’ to Fast-Track Development

The mission aims for 100% targets in the health, education and welfare sectors

Goalpara: The Goalpara District Administration launched the ‘Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0’, a focused development campaign designed to accelerate progress across key social and economic indicators in the district and the Lakhipur Development Block. Both regions have been identified as Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks by NITI Aayog under the Government of India’s flagship programme.

Scheduled to run from January 28 to April 14, 2026, the initiative seeks to achieve 100 percent targets in selected indicators while strengthening service delivery in health, nutrition, education, agriculture and social justice. The campaign aims to ensure inclusive and measurable development through coordinated efforts of multiple departments.

The programme was formally inaugurated at the Natasurjya Phani Sarma Auditorium, where District Commissioner Pradip Timung lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the launch. Addressing officials, healthcare workers, Anganwadi staff and ASHA workers, he called for collective action and urged all stakeholders to treat the campaign as a mission. He noted that Goalpara has already made notable progress under the Aspirational District Programme and expressed confidence that the remaining goals could be achieved within the campaign period.

District Development Commissioner Pranab Bora delivered the welcome address, while several senior officials, including Assistant Commissioners and department heads, attended the event. Representatives from agriculture, animal husbandry and public works departments also participated, reflecting a broad-based administrative push.

The event featured cultural performances alongside official proceedings, adding community spirit to the launch. Backed by the coordinated support of the Central and State governments, the district administration has committed to making the Sampoornata Abhiyan a milestone in Goalpara’s journey toward holistic and sustainable development.
