Rs 50 lakh approved for development; government plans to enhance and beautify the sacred site while preserving its sanctity

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Sri Sri Silpota Satra at Majir Gaon in Kamrup district, a sacred site founded by Mahapurush Madhabdev, a key figure in Assam’s spiritual and cultural history.
During the visit, the CM reaffirmed the Government of Assam’s commitment to preserving and promoting the state’s spiritual heritage. He announced that Rs 50 lakh has already been approved for the Satra’s development.

A comprehensive plan will also be undertaken to enhance and beautify the holy site, ensuring that its religious sanctity and cultural significance are fully respected.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by the Assam government to safeguard historic spiritual landmarks while improving facilities for devotees and visitors.
