Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Sri Sri Batadrava Than during Doul Mahotsav, highlighting Assam’s spiritual heritage and communal harmony

Nagaon: Marking the sacred occasion of Doul Mahotsav, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the revered Sri Sri Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev, to pay his respects and participate in the celebrations.
During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the historic shrine, seeking peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the people of Assam. He also interacted with devotees and members of the local community gathered to observe the festival.

Highlighting the spiritual and cultural significance of Doul Mahotsav, the Chief Minister asserts that the occasion reflects Assam’s rich Vaishnavite heritage and the enduring teachings of Srimanta Sankardev, whose ideals of unity, devotion, and social harmony continue to inspire generations.
The visit underscored the state government’s commitment to preserving Assam’s religious and cultural traditions while promoting communal harmony and collective progress. Large numbers of devotees attended the celebrations, adding to the festive spirit at the historic Than.
