Assam CM Inaugurates Rs 11 Cr Mini Stadium Amid MMUA Drive in Bihpuria

MMUA support reaches over 25.8 lakh women statewide; Rs.11-crore mini stadium virtually inaugurated to strengthen local sports infrastructure

Bihpuria: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday distributed seed capital of Rs.10,000 each to 30,881 women beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA) in Bihpuria Legislative Assembly Constituency of Lakhimpur district.

The financial assistance was ceremonially handed over during a massive public meeting at Narayanpur, aimed at promoting women-led entrepreneurship and strengthening self-help groups through sustainable income opportunities. The initiative seeks to empower women to start or expand small businesses and achieve long-term financial independence.

With the latest distribution, a total of 25,83,823 women, referred to as ‘Nari-preneurs’ across 104 Assembly constituencies, have benefited under the MMUA scheme, marking a significant milestone in the state government’s efforts to foster inclusive economic growth and transform women into self-reliant earners.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to building a strong network of ‘Lakhpati Baideus’ across Assam by equipping women with the necessary financial support and entrepreneurial confidence.

The twin initiatives, economic empowerment and sports development, reflect the government’s broader focus on holistic community growth and grassroots progress across Assam.
