Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said ADRE 3.0 and 4.0 appointments to be completed by January; government targets 2 lakh jobs in Assam

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday distributed appointment letters to 3,420 candidates selected for technical and non-technical posts in the state’s health sector, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparent and merit-based recruitment.
The appointment letters were handed over at a function held at the Veterinary College Playground, Khanapara, Guwahati. With this latest distribution, the total number of government appointments made by the present government has reached 1,45,449.
The appointments include various Grade-III (Technical) posts under the Health and Family Welfare Department and Technical and Grade-III (Technical and Non-Technical) posts under the Medical Education and Research Department. Appointment letters for candidates belonging to the Tea Tribe and Adivasi categories will be distributed separately on December 24 at the Srimanta Sankaradeva International Auditorium, Panjabari, Guwahati.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sarma said the government remains focused on strengthening Assam’s healthcare workforce while also creating large-scale employment opportunities across sectors. He announced that appointments under ADRE 3.0 will be given on January 10, while ADRE 4.0 candidates will be appointed before January 20. He further informed that remaining departmental appointments will be completed by February.
“Our promise was to provide one lakh government jobs, but we have already crossed 1.42 lakh appointments. Our aim now is to touch two lakh jobs,” the Chief Minister said.
Highlighting upcoming employment opportunities, Dr Sarma said more than 10,000 job appointments will be generated at the Jagiroad Semiconductor project. He also announced that the proposed 3,000 MW thermal power project in Dhubri will create around 10,000 additional jobs. “All these initiatives are aimed at strengthening employment in Assam,” he added.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Scheme, under which the government will provide financial assistance of up to ₹5 lakh to eligible youths to start their own businesses. He said students who have completed courses in agriculture, veterinary science, dental studies, and other disciplines, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, will benefit from the scheme.
Dr Sarma said the government is committed not only to providing jobs but also to encouraging entrepreneurship and self-reliance among the youth of Assam.
The appointment distribution programme was attended by senior officials of the Health and Medical Education departments, along with families of the newly appointed candidates.
