Assam CM Distributes Rs 61 crore to 5,788 youth entrepreneurs Under CMAAA 2.0 in Nalbari

The first instalment of financial assistance was handed over to beneficiaries as part of the Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan to promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance across Assam.

Nalbari: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 11 distributed first-instalment cheques worth Rs 61 crore to 5,788 young entrepreneurs from Nalbari, Barpeta and Bajali districts under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0.

The financial assistance aims to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to establish and expand their ventures, fostering a strong culture of self-employment and innovation across the state.

Addressing the programme in Nalbari, the Chief Minister said the initiative reflects the government’s continued focus on empowering the youth and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. He noted that the scheme is playing a key role in transforming job seekers into job creators.

With the latest distribution, the CMAAA 2.0 has now covered 13 districts, benefiting 29,137 budding entrepreneurs so far. The programme is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening local businesses, boosting the rural economy and accelerating Assam’s journey towards self-reliance.

Officials said the scheme not only provides financial backing but also offers guidance and institutional support to ensure the long-term success of the beneficiaries. The initiative is widely seen as a major step towards building an entrepreneurial ecosystem and driving inclusive economic growth across the state.
