Eligible dialysis patients can continue availing cashless treatment at empanelled private hospitals until September 30, while services in public hospitals remain unchanged

Guwahati: The Assam government has extended cashless dialysis treatment for eligible patients at empanelled private hospitals under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana (MMJAY) until September 30, 2026, ensuring uninterrupted care for nephrology patients across the state.
Sharing the announcement, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the extension has been approved to ensure that beneficiaries continue receiving essential dialysis services without disruption.
According to the government, all eligible dialysis procedures covered under PMJAY and MMJAY will remain cashless at empanelled private hospitals until the extended deadline.
The government also clarified that there will be no restrictions or changes in dialysis services offered at public hospitals, where treatment under the two health insurance schemes will continue as usual.
However, after September 30, 2026, cashless dialysis under PMJAY and MMJAY will be available only at public hospitals, while the temporary extension for private hospitals will come to an end.
The decision is aimed at providing continuity of care for patients undergoing regular dialysis, who require uninterrupted treatment several times a week. The extension is expected to benefit beneficiaries currently receiving treatment at empanelled private healthcare facilities while allowing time for a phased transition.
