Guwahati gets a modern GMC headquarters with citizen-friendly facilities, aiming for faster, efficient, and transparent municipal services.

Guwahati: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the newly constructed headquarters of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) at Betkuchi, marking a major step in strengthening civic administration and bringing municipal services closer to the people.
The state-of-the-art complex is designed to enhance administrative efficiency and provide citizen-centric services. Equipped with modern offices, spacious meeting halls, a cafeteria, and other essential facilities, the new headquarters aims to ensure faster and more responsive public service delivery for the residents of Guwahati.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing urban governance and improving the quality of municipal services.
The new GMC headquarters is expected to streamline operations, facilitate better coordination, and make civic administration more accessible and transparent to the city’s residents.
